Severe frost in Turkey has jeopardized hazelnut harvests, raising concerns about export income and domestic food prices. Temperatures plummeted to -15°C, impacting over a third of the country’s provinces.
Hazelnuts, Turkey’s top agricultural export, are particularly vulnerable. The frost also raises worries about winter wheat losses, potentially doubling wheat imports for 2025-26.
