An Israeli airstrike has hit the Kuwaiti Field Hospital in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of a medic and injuries to 10 others. The attack follows a previous strike on another major Gaza hospital on Sunday, which the UN reported to be “out of service.” Hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians had been seeking refuge in tent camps surrounding the Kuwaiti Field Hospital.
According to hospital spokesman Saber, all those wounded in Tuesday’s strike were patients and medics, including two patients in critical condition.
Hamas Reviews Ceasefire Proposal
In a separate development, Hamas is reportedly reviewing a new Israeli ceasefire proposal presented by Egypt. Hamas officials indicate the proposal includes a 45-day cessation of hostilities in exchange for the release of hostages. However, Hamas has reiterated that no agreement will be reached without a commitment from Israel to end the war and withdraw its forces from Gaza. The group has also rejected any demands for Hamas to disarm, stating it is “not up for discussions.”
Earlier, a senior Hamas official told Al Jazeera that the group had rejected a call in the latest Gaza ceasefire proposal for it to disarm. Meanwhile, at least 15 Palestinians have been reported killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since dawn on Monday. The US State Department has also approved the sale of engines used on military vehicles to Israel in a deal worth $180 million. Israeli forces also bombed a tent where displaced people were staying, killing two people, in Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip.
The renewed conflict follows a broken ceasefire from mid-January 2025, which ended on March 18, 2025, when Israel launched an attack on the Gaza Strip.
